A special project for 92Y Unterberg Poetry Center’s 75th anniversary and beyond, 75 at 75 invites authors to listen to a recording from our archive and write a personal response. In this live “Writers on Recordings” presentation, Colm Tóibín discusses the life and work of Elizabeth Bishop and Thom Gunn with Poetry Center director Bernard Schwartz. Their conversation, a collaboration with Queen Mary University, took place at the London Review bookshop on July 15, 2019, and features archival recordings from Bishop and Gunn’s 92Y appearances in 1977 and 1992, respectively.
