Funding, Strategy & the Tools to Get There

UpTide is an accelerator that gives community-building nonprofits the tools they need to reach the next level of impact.

UpTide will serve a cohort of five nonprofit leaders (Executive Directors / Presidents / CEOs) from diverse, community-building organizations looking to significantly scale the impact of their programs.

To serve nonprofits nationwide, this program will be conducted in a hybrid format, with all sessions in 2025 held virtually. An in-person program conclusion will be held in New York City in January 2026.

BENEFITS

  • $5,000 unrestricted grant upon completing all elements of the UpTide accelerator

  • A powerful sustained network—facilitated and supported by 92NY—of cohort peers, mentors, coaches, and industry leaders
  • Ongoing access to an alumni network and resources provided by SEED SPOT

WHO THIS IS FOR

UpTide participants must be 18 years of age or older and be in a full-time role as the Executive Director / President / CEO of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the U.S.

Selection criteria for organizations

Nonprofit status: Must be a U.S.-based nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in good standing. 

Mission and Program: UpTide is dedicated to combating the "Crisis of Community"— the growing disconnection and disaffiliation at the root of many societal challenges. Your organization should address the Crisis of Community through your mission and programming.

Program Impact: Your organization directly serves at least 500 people or a meaningful proportion of your community.  You must have implemented at least one proven intervention with at least one year of positive impact data that demonstrates that you are achieving the desired outcome.

Scalability: You have a replicable model that is making a meaningful impact on the community it serves and is ready to scale.

Time commitment

Applicants must be confident that they can attend all sessions. To receive the $5,000 unrestricted grant, you must attend all virtual sessions, NYC Week, and Showcase Day.

All flights, hotels, and most meals during NYC week will be paid for by UpTide.

SEED SPOT


SEED SPOT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs to build businesses that improve lives or make a positive impact on the world. SEED SPOT is well-known in the impact accelerator space for uplifting entrepreneurs from all backgrounds who want to enact positive change through their business ventures. SEED SPOT has served over 4,000 entrepreneurs over the past decade, who have collectively created almost 10,000 jobs through their social enterprises.
