Ceramics

Immerse yourself in creativity and join a thriving community of artists in our ceramics studios — which are equipped with 25 electric potters’ wheels, a gas reduction kiln, and three electric kilns.

Whether you’re looking to master your craft or just put your hands in some clay and make something, the Ceramics Center offers everything you need to create, connect, and grow your skills. All our teachers are professional, working artists; our classes and workshops are available for all skill levels.

Exciting changes for Ceramics in 2025!

New locations, new materials, same creative community

  • Now through July 3, 2025 — Winter/Spring ceramics classes will continue at 92NY’s main location (1395 Lexington Ave) using stoneware clay.
  • Starting July 21, 2025 — As we begin an exciting renovation of our ceramics studios, all Summer and Fall 2025 ceramics classes will move to our temporary location at 4 E. 90th Street (Church of the Heavenly Rest). During this time, we’ll introduce terra cotta clay, a warm and expressive material with a rich history, along with majolica glazing, known for its bright white surface and vibrant, painterly colors.
  • Winter 2026 — We anticipate returning to our new, fully refurbished Ceramics studios on the third floor of our main campus.
