Classical scholar and translator Moses Hadas speaks about the Hellenistic influence on non-canonical Hebrew writing. This is the final part of a four-part series about the relationship between ancient Greek and ancient Hebrew culture and literature. Hadas continues his discussion of Hebrew literature by reviewing non-canonical biblical texts, also known as apocrypha. He shares examples of Hellenistic influence on the Books of the Maccabees, the Book of Judith, and the Book of Ecclesiasticus. The lecture is followed with questions from the audience.
