More than 20 years before anyone had heard of George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, a subway car shooting sparked a nationwide debate about race, crime and vigilante justice. Bernhard Goetz shot and wounded four unarmed African-American teenagers whom he claimed were trying to rob him.
Prosecutor Gregory Waples discusses self-defense and the prosecution case against Goetz.
Fordham Law professor Thane Rosenbaum is joined by prosecutor Gregory Waples, defense attorney Barry Slotnick, juror Mark Lesly and media personality Geraldo Rivera, to revisit the case that shook the city and the nation.
