Architectural critic Paul Goldberger interviews architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia, whose work influenced the architectural style of Miami, Florida. Fort-Brescia co-founded the architectural firm Arquitectonica, with his wife, Laurinda Hope Spear, in 1977. Fort-Brescia shares examples of his work, including the Center for Innovative Technology in Dulles, Virginia, the Banco de Crédito headquarters in Lima, Peru, and The Pink House and the Atlantis Condominium, in Miami, Florida. Goldberger and Fort-Brescia discuss the influence and popularity of his work, including the use of the Atlantis Condominium in the opening credits of the television show, Miami Vice (1984 -1989). They also discuss his approach for projects involving the design of government buildings. The discussion concludes with audience questions.
