Dr. Margot Krebs speaks with American writer Carole Glickfeld about her novel, Swimming Toward the Ocean (2001). This event is part of the Jewish Literary Exchange discussion series. Swimming Toward the Ocean is about the experiences and troubles of Chenia Arnow, a Russian immigrant living in New York City. Krebs reads excerpts from the book and speaks directly to Glickfeld about how and why she wrote the book. Krebs and Glickfeld specifically discuss the book’s themes of marriage, infidelity, inheritance, escape, and suicide. The discussion includes questions and comments from the audience.
