Tennessee Williams was an American treasure and one of our preeminent playwrights, having been awarded top theatrical awards including the Pulitzer Prize twice, the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards twice, a Tony Award and more. He would have observed his 100th birthday in March of 2011, and it seems like the whole world is commemorating his centenary, 92nd Street Y included.
Watch Alec Baldwin, Zoe Caldwell, Olympia Dukakis, John Guare, Tony Kushner, Marian Seldes, Angelica Torn, Eli Wallach and others for an evening of readings and remembrances in A Celebration of Tennessee Williams—in collaboration with New Directions Publishing and the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival.
