Diplomacy

Sep 28, 1995

James Baker served as the 10th and 16th White House Chief of Staff under Presidents Ronald Regan and George H.W. Bush, respectively. He also served as the 67th United States Secretary of the Treasury and the 61st U.S. Secretary of State. James Fulton Hoge Jr., editor of Foreign Affairs (1991-2010), moderates a discussion with Baker about contemporary international affairs and Baker’s 18-year-long career in public service. Baker also discusses and shares excerpts from his 1995 memoir, The Politics of Diplomacy: Revolution, War and Peace, 1989-1992. The discussion concludes with audience questions.
