Genesis and the Big Bang

May 14, 2001

Orthodox Jewish physicist Dr. Gerald Schroeder speaks about the intersection of science and spirituality. Utilizing “ancient biblical commentary and modern peer-reviewed scientific papers,” Dr. Schroeder argues that the Bible and scientific theory actually complement, rather than contradict, each other in many cases. He speaks specifically about the creation of the universe and the “clock” of biblical time as compared to known scientific and historical timelines. Schroeder looks for evidence of the “biblical aspect of the world” in scientific research and ultimately argues that “God works through nature." The lecture is followed with questions from the audience.
