Performance artist Karen Finley discusses her (then) recently published satirical book, Living It Up: Humorous Adventures in Hyperdomesticity (1996). She shares her inspiration and what prompted her to write this book. Finley discusses the main theme of the work: societal pressure on women to be the perfect homemaker. During her talk, Finley also shares images of satirical illustrations she created of public figures like Martha Stewart, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Kerrigan. The talk concludes with audience questions.
