Claire Gaudiani, president of Connecticut College at the time of this recording, moderates a lecture with Katharine Graham, the chief executive of her family’s newspaper, The Washington Post. Graham shares her experience as CEO of the newspaper, including her involvement in the reporting and publication of the contents of the Pentagon Papers and the investigation into the Watergate scandal. She describes the conflicting responsibilities and risks she faced for these publications and shares her beliefs about what newspaper publishers owe to the American public.
