Author, lecturer, and philosopher Dr. Eugene Borowitz discusses the philosophical history of Zionism. This lecture is part of a series exploring the modern Jewish identity. Borowitz centers his discussion around the lives and work of two early Zionists, Leon Pinsker and Theodor Herzl. He contends that both Pinsker and Herzl turned to Zionism after becoming disillusioned with the idea of assimilation and equality in Europe. The lecture is followed with questions from the audience.
