Richard Ford and Lorrie Moore

Feb 12, 2015

In his new collection of stories, Let Me Be Frank with You, Richard Ford reinvents his beloved character, Frank Bascombe, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. He has “forged a new way of writing fiction about, and out of, American life that is as revolutionary as Proust’s adventures in time travel,” wrote John Banville. Lorrie Moore’s recent collection of stories is Bark. Her work “still dazzles,” wrote Bonnie Jo Campbell. “For all their genuine sadness and existential angst, these powerfully, almost savagely, human stories shine with a spirit of playfulness and the logic of love.”
