In the first part of a three-part discussion series, Professor Richard Gilman, a drama and literary critic, discusses three prominent figures who greatly impacted contemporary theatre: Bertolt Brecht, a German theatre practitioner, playwright, and poet; Jerzy Grotowski, a Polish theatre director and theorist; and Antonin Artaud, a French writer, dramatist, and theatre director. The discussion concludes with audience questions.
