Celebrate the incredible taste of Cuban cuisine and the sites, color and energy of Cuban culture with Cynthia Carris Alonso, acclaimed photographer of Cuban culture.
Alonso speaks about her time photographing on the streets of Cuba for her latest book, A Taste of Cuba, stopping in its best restaurants and paladares — private, family owned establishments — along the way.
Learn more about the recipes that chefs Alonso met on her journey provided: everything from appetizers and main courses to drinks and desserts. Alonso’s Cuban husband, José Luis, who translated the chefs’ text into English and suggested ingredients that can be locally found to replace those native to Cuba, and chef Valerie Feigen, who tested the recipes in her private kitchen, joins her in conversation.
