At the 15th annual State of World Jewry, Malcolm Hoenlein speaks about the spiritual, political, and social conditions of the Jewish people. Drawing on his years of experience participating in the peace process between Jewish and Arab relations in Israel, Hoenlein shares his views of the changes that took place between 1994 and 1995, calling it “the year of revolutionary change.” Hoenlein reflects on the importance of Jewish traditions and obligations and shares his experience visiting a synagogue in Germany, which was built in dedication to his grandfather and other families who were victims of the Holocaust. He also discusses Jewish life in the United States, antisemitism, and the state of Jerusalem. Hoenlein was the executive vice chairman for the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations at the time of this recording, as well as the founder of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater New York.
