No, you may submit your application before your portfolio or audition video is ready.
What are the Recanati-Kaplan age eligibility requirements?
Ages 7–17.
If I have already graduated high school, may I still apply to the RK program?
No – you may not.
Can I apply if I was a previous Recanati-Kaplan scholar?
Yes.
What artistic disciplines does RK accept applications for?
Art, Dance, Music, and Musical Theater.
Can I apply in more than one discipline?

What is the fee for applying to RK?
There is no fee.
How do I submit my portfolio, audition or other submission materials?
Art: Send link to dropbox of your work. Dance: Portfolio not required. Music: A video of your performance – you may send us a link to YouTube or Dropbox, or any other online format. Musical Theater: Video not required.
What are the application requirements?
Each discipline requires a completed application, a short essay about your aspirations in the specified discipline and a reference letter from a teacher or current mentor.
How will my work be judged?
Video submissions of your performance and portfolio will be evaluated by the director and select faculty. Upon completion, selected applicants will be invited for an in person audition/interview.
How many applications does 92Y receive and how many winners are there?
We receive between 100–150 applicants each year. Each discipline has between 3–5 spots available depending on number of graduates each year.
What is expected of a RK scholar once accepted?
We expect our RK students to be role models in progress, attendance and attitude. Attendance is mandatory for all scheduled classes, lessons and rehearsals. A minimum of 1–3 meetings per week depending on discipline.
