Overview

The sensational Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra (CHJO) – led by bassist John Clayton and drummer Jeff Hamilton – swings into NYC from LA for the first time in a decade, joined by rhythm guitar master and vocalist John Pizzarelli.

CHJO is the big band of choice for artists including Diana Krall, Samara Joy, and Pizzarelli, whose collaboration with the band was captured on his fabulous Dear Mr. Sinatra album. The 20-piece ensemble reflects influences from Ellington to Gil Evans to Quincy Jones, with a sound all their own. Don’t miss the chance to hear this hard-swinging band alongside one of the most irresistible artists in jazz as they kick off Jazz in July 2025!

Online streaming also available for 72 hours following the performance.

Jazz in July is partially endowed by a generous gift from Simona and Jerome A. z”l Chazen. Major support is provided by Evelene Wechsler with additional support from Barbara and Donald z”l Tober.
