My first 92Y recital was in 1974, when Omus Hirschbein was at the Y. One of the things I was so grateful to Omus for was that he believed in me enough to say he would want me to come back to play at the Y every two years. To get an invitation like that was perhaps the greatest gift a budding musician could receive.
